As a scientist, it baffles me when people say things like 'trust the science'. Scientists are the most skeptical people on the planet, we absolutely would never 'trust the science', we doubt everything our peers claim at any single step. Scientists don't trust other scientists, so why the hell does everyone else? You shouldn't trust science, science is not supposed to be based on trust.
